Hollywood legend, the late Judy Garland, has found a new home after her remains were moved from New York to Los Angeles Thursday.
According to TMZ, the actress, who has been entombed in a mausoleum in Hartsdale, New York since her death in 1969, was flown from JFK to LAX on Thursday. Garland will be reburied at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery at the request of her daughter Liza Minnelli. The New York Daily News reports Garland's body was moved because there was no room to bury her three children, including Minnelli with her in New York.
Numerous other Hollywood greats including Jayne Mansfield, Cecil B. DeMille and Garland's longtime movie partner Mickey Rooney found their final resting place at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Judy Garland died of a barbiturate overdose on June 22, 1969 after a career that spanned more than four decades. Garland appeared in classic films including The Wizard of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis and A Star is Born.
