Proving that Disney movies are good for more than just kids' entertainment, Ellen DeGeneres used Finding Dory to talk about President Donald Trump's travel ban.
A day after signing the executive order banning the admission of travelers and immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries, Trump hosted a screening of the Disney film, the LA Times reported, and Ellen commented on the matter during her talk show.
"I don't get political," she said. "I'm just going to talk about the very non-political, family friendly, People's Choice Award-winning Finding Dory."
DeGeneres then gave he audience an overview of the film, drawing several parallels between the film's plot and the political climate of America.
"Dory arrives in America with her friends Marlin and Nemo. She ends up at the Marine Life Institute behind a large wall. They all have to get over the wall and you won't believe it, but that wall has almost no effect in keeping them out," she said. "The other animals help Dory. Animals that don't even need her...they help her even though they're completely different colors because that's what you do when you see someone else in need, you help them."
