Debbie Reynolds' cause of death confirmed, Carrie Fisher's undetermined

Two weeks after actress Debbie Reynolds passed away, her cause of death has been confirmed.

As previously reported, the 84-year-old actress died after suffering a stroke. She was in the midst of planning the funeral for her daughter, actress Carrie Fisher. Fisher passed away just one day earlier after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to LA.

E! News confirmed Reynolds died of an intracerebral hemorraghe, which was due to high blood pressure. This type of hemorraghe occurs when bleeding inside the brain happens after a blood vessel ruptures.

When she passed away, her son, Todd, said in the moments before her death, she told him she “wanted to be with Carrie.”

Last week, a joint funeral was held for the mother-daughter duo. Some of Fisher’s ashes were buried with Reynolds.

TMZ reported Fisher’s cause of death was listed as “cardiac arrest/deferred,” which means more testing will be done to determine why her heart stopped beating.
