Natalie Portman has joined such actresses as Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow and Amanda Seyfried, among others in bringing to light the gender pay gap.
In an interview with Marie Claire UK, Portman remarked that she was paid three times less than co-star Ashton Kutcher in the 2011 movie No Strings Attached. She said, "I wasn’t as pissed as I should have been. I mean, we get paid a lot, so it’s hard to complain, but the disparity is crazy."
After hearing the news, Kutcher took to Twitter to show his support for, not only Portman, but for "all women who stand up for closing the gender pay gap."
So proud of Natalie and all women who stand up for closing the gender pay gap! https://t.co/AV1uYY6KIe

This is not a new issue, according to the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Senate, women make 79 cents compared to a man's $1. It is when A List celebrities weigh in on the topic that the issue is spotlighted. As Portman says, "We need to be part of the solution, not perpetuating the problem."
