6. Stars speak out about police shootings
In 2016, police shootings involving minorities dominated the headlines once again and many athletes and celebrities including LeBron James, John Legend and Nick Cannon spoke out against the violence. Then on July 7, five police officers in Dallas were gunned down while protecting protesters during what was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration. Those same stars reacted with confusion and heavy hearts at a very difficult time in our country.
One photo that went viral was tweeted out by the Dallas Police Department of two officers standing side-by-side with a protester before the gunfire erupted.
