Could the world soon be saying goodbye to Girl Meets World , the spinoff to the popular sitcom Boy Meets World?
In a recent episode of the podcast Literary Disco, Rider Strong, who played Cory Matthews' best friend Shawn Hunter in both versions of the show, claimed that the series had ended, according to Yahoo.
“We finished the third season of Girl Meets World — my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple — and the show ended,” Strong reportedly said.
Girl Meets World is set to return on Jan. 6 with episodes airing through Jan. 20. As for whether or not the series will be coming to a close after its third season, the show's writers posted two tweets that didn't exactly confirm that the series would be returning, but also didn't quite dash the hopes of viewers.
As much as I love Shawn Hunter, having created his character and everything, you have to remember that he was wrong a lot.

Whatever happens, it has been a great joy to get to continue this story. If it is over, thank you. If not, we will keep giving our best.
