Celine Dion refuses to sing at Donald Trump's inauguration

It seems like President-elect Donald Trump's talent recruiters haven't had the best of luck in getting big name entertainers to perform at his inauguration as Celine Dion is one of the latest singers to turn down an offer to sing  at the ceremony.

According to TheWrap, Las Vegas casino tycoon and big-time Trump supporter, Steve Wynn, promised Trump that he could convince the singer to perform at his inauguration, but he couldn't deliver on that promise.

Dion isn't the first to refuse offers to perform at the inauguration. Recently the bandmates of the popular rock n' roll group KISS were approached, but they refused since the date coincides with a big European tour they have planned. Also, Andrea Bocelli was said to be singing at the ceremony with America's Got Talent star Jackie Evancho, but he reportedly backed out after receiving "a ton of backlash from social media users." Evancho, however, is still set to perform.

In terms of why so many artists have turned the inauguration invitation down, a source told TheWrap that the performers approached say they don't wish to "normalize" Trump's presidency.

Dion has made no comment yet as to why she declined.
