Beyonce, Adele lead 2017 Grammy Award nominations

The nominations for the 2017 Grammy Awards have been announced and as no surprise, Adele and Beyonce lead the nominations.

Appearing on CBS This Morning Dec. 6, singer Meghan Trainor announced the nominees. Trainor was the winner for 2016 Best New Artist.

In the Album of the Year category, Beyonce is nominated for Lemonade while Adele is a nominee for 25.

In addition, they are also in the running for Song of the Year. Beyonce is nominated for “Formation” while Adele is nominated for “Hello.”

Overall, Beyonce is nominated for nine Grammy awards. Following behind with eight nominations are Drake, Kanye West and Rihanna. Behind them with seven nominations is Chance The Rapper.

Along with Beyonce and Adele for the Record of the Year category are Twenty One Pilots for Stressed Out, Lukas Graham for 7 Years and Rihanna for Work.

For 2017 Best New Artist, nominees include Kelsea Ballerini, Chance the Rapper, Marren Morris, Anderson .Paak and The Chainsmokers.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards is set to air on CBS Sunday Feb. 12, 2017. Talk show James Corden is set to host the live show.
