Trinchero Napa Valley Mary’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

Lula Cellars: Pinot Noir
2013 marks the sixth release of our Mendocino Pinot Noir. This wine has an earthy structure yet a finish of profound balance. Rich and vibrant on the plate (and in color), its hints of cranberry, cherry and pomegranate are framed by aromas of semi-sweet chocolate and fennel. Delicious to drink now with any type of poultry (chicken, turkey, quail), this regal, cool-climate pinot noir will reveal itself with greater complexity from another 3-5 years of bottle age.

Lula Cellars: Zinfandel
Lula’s 2014 Mariah Vineyard Zinfandel is the perfect companion for any grilled meats, especially lamb, ribs, and sausages. It displays a beautiful ruby-garnet color and offers generous aromas of blackberry and spice. Lingonberry and black currant flavors fill the palate followed by a lingering finish.

Clos Pegase 2013 “Hommage” Chardonnay, Carneros-Napa Valley ($45). Clos Pegase, known for its Michael Graves-designed winery, has been farming their cool-climate estate vineyard in Carneros since 1989. It’s an ideal site for Chardonnay, and the limited-production “Hommage” bottling is bursting with flavor and balanced by pitch-perfect acidity. Stylish, minerally and complex.
Robert Mondavi Winery 2013 ‘Maestro’
2016 is the 50th anniversary of the famed Robert Mondavi Winery, and Maestro is a special red blend that was created to commemorate the anniversary. The name pays tribute to the innovative spirit of founder Robert Mondavi and recalls his one-time stint conducting the Napa Valley Symphony at an event at the winery. Maestro is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Malbec.
La Crema Saralee’s Vineyard Pinot Noir
Sweet floral scents, along with black licorice, earth and espresso. Wild berry flavors, along with cocoa, black tea and cloves. Lush texture with a spicy, lingering finish.
Pair with classics with a twist here such as herbs de Provence roast chicken, tea-smoked duck, or cream of mushroom soup with sherry and thyme. A charcuterie plate with dried cherries would also be a hit!
Murphy-Goode Liar’s Dice Zinfandel
This wine would be a winning pair with just about anything coming off the grill or smoker – from baby back pork ribs, to brisket, to burgers. We actually had it with meatloaf!
Stoller Family Estate: Reserve Pinot Noir
This wine made exclusively from the vineyard in the Pacific Northwest is barrel aged in French oak for 10 months prior to bottling and carefully blended from individual lots to articulate the vintage. The palate displays an integrated balance of ripe raspberry and rose petals, accented by spicy notes on its seamless finish.
Kim Crawford wines is bringing a festive look to the brand’s beloved Sauvignon Blanc, the special edition bottle comes wrapped in gold with the brand’s signature screw cap, ready to crack open and celebrate. The seasonal bottle is available nationwide.
SAUVIGNON SHIMMER COCKTAIL
INGREDIENTS
2.5 oz Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
1 oz SVEDKA Vanilla
1 tsp honey syrup (2:1 honey:water, mixed well)
1 dash Angostura bitters
2 tsp edible gold flake
DIRECTIONS
Combine liquid ingredients and 1 tsp gold leaf with ice in a mixing glass.
Stir with ice and strain over fresh ice (large cube preferable) in a rocks glass.
Sprinkle remaining tsp of gold leaf decoratively over cocktail.
