The last NCIS: Los Angeles saw Callen going undercover after the body of an NSA Analyst named Tad Larsen was found in the stomach of a shark. At first, the team gets information that ISIS is involved, but it soon becomes apparent something else is going on.
Eventually, they discover the Mexican Banuelos Cartel is involved and a connection is made between a missing NSA employee who checked into a psychiatric hospital. While Callen builds trust with Gary Dill, Sam and Deeks work to see how the investigation turns out.
In the meantime, Kensi struggles with physical therapy and tries to push past her limit. Deeks shares a moment with her, which might not go the way he’d like it to, but it shows his dedication to her even though she is distressed over her current state.
