Things seem to be getting nasty as allegations are flying about why Mariah Carey and James Packer split up and now their reps are doing some of the explaining.
As we noted, reports surfaced on Thursday, Oct. 27, that the singer and her billionaire fiancé had broken up. Carey's rep later confirmed that the two had not seen each other since last month.
“Mariah and James had a fight in Greece, and have not seen each other since. The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah,” her rep told Entertainment Tonight. "They are trying to work it out. Right now, they’re not sure if they will stay together."
After that confirmation though rumors began to swirl that Carey left Packer because he was "mentally unstable."
“James has not been in a mentally healthy place and has not been present for Mariah or her family,” a source told People. “His behavior was not a desirable situation for Mariah so she unfortunately had to leave him.”
Packer's rep, however, debunked those reports saying that they are “simply not true.”
So far neither Carey or Packer have commented on their situation.
