Demi Lovato is excited for 2017 as she has announced that she will be taking a hiatus next year.
The former Disney star tweeted the news on Tuesday, Oct. 4, "taking a break...I am not meant for this business and the media."
So excited for 2017. Taking a break from music and the spotlight.. I am not meant for this business and the media ????????

Her announcement comes after an interview she had with Glam magazine.
During that chat squad body norms was brought up and her comment was assumed by the public to be connected with Taylor Swift's squad. Soon after the interview, the pop star began to receive nasty comments from Swift's fans. Lovato responded to a few and defended herself.
Also don't forget that words can be taken out of context when doing interviews.. still not apologizing for saying what everyone want to say

The nasty comments continued onto which Lovato tweeted
I don't understand why people care so much about what I say in interviews? Do y'all watch the news? Don't y'all got shit to worry about?

Now it seems that the singer has finally had enough drama and is calling it quits. But should fans be freaking out? This isn't the first time she has announced a hiatus.
In June, Lovato said that she was leaving Twitter over constant negative comments. That didn't last long though as the star remained offline for 24 hours before she resurfaced. She did leave this tweet as an opening gift "coming back more honest than ever."
