Logo TV celebrates National Coming Out Day with censorship

Logo TV celebrated National Coming Out Day, a day to celebrate coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) or as an ally, with censorship. 

The network which has multiple television shows related to the LGBTQ community, censored all of its queer-related content with “digital pixelation, black bars, and bleeped audio” in honor of National Coming Out Day. 

The home of Emmy-winning RuPaul's Drag Race is honoring the brave and unique individuals by inviting them back into the closet for safety and to gain a new perspective on their lives. For those that are lucky enough to live in a country where you can openly express your rights will also get a chance to experience what others can’t do in some countries.

By changing the the content of the network for the"Day of Disruption," Logo officials are making a bold statement and standing in unity.

Senior Vice President of Original Programming, Pamela Post told Huffington Post, “In many countries today, LGBT people can’t turn on their TV, go online or open a newspaper and see relatable and positive images.”   

Logo TV will continue to celebrate this great holiday in hopes of stopping the hate and spreading the love around the world.
