Chevy Chase checks into rehab facility

Funnyman Chevy Chase has checked into a rehab facility in Minnesota.

Chase’s rep confirmed the news to People and said that the 72-year-old is an in-patient at the Hazelden Addiction Treatment. He is getting help for an alcohol problem, which the rep described as a “tune-up,” so that he can recover and “be the best that he can be.”

This is not the first time Chase has checked into a rehab facility. The New York Times noted that the comedic actor sought treatment at the Betty Ford drug rehabilitation center back in the '80s for an addiction to painkillers.

In addition to his most recent role as Pierce Hawthorne on Community, Chase is also known for his work on Saturday Night Live and the National Lampoon's Vacation franchise. He has just wrapped up production on the upcoming film The Christmas Apprentice as well as another upcoming movie titled Dog Years starring Burt Reynolds and Ariel Winter.
