Tim Tebow to pursue a career in baseball

Everyone wants to be like Mike, Michael Jordan that is, including Tim Tebow who is currently pursuing a career in baseball just as Jordan did.

According to ESPN, Tebow has been training in Arizona and Los Angeles for the past year and will have workouts for all Major League Baseball teams later this month. He played baseball in high school and hit .494 as a junior helping his school reach the final four of the Florida state playoffs.

One team has already shown interest in Tebow. The Schaumburg Boomers, an independent Frontier League team that’s based in Schaumburg, Illinois, offered Tebow a contract on Tuesday, according to Fox Sports.

"Obviously we support Tim in his pursuit of a baseball career, as we have in all his ventures," Jimmy Sexton, Tebow’s football agent, said. "Tim's athletic ability, his work ethic, his leadership and his competitiveness were evident in football and will show in baseball. Knowing Tim's passion and desire, we won't be surprised by anything he accomplishes."

Tebow played in the NFL for three seasons with the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets. He completed 47.9 percent of his passes, threw for 17 touchdowns, and had nine interceptions. Last year, he participated in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, but was cut before the regular season. Soon after that, he joined ESPN as an analyst. Tebow has informed ESPN that he’s pursuing a career in baseball and he will continue to fulfill his obligations with the network.

The sports world took to Twitter to react to Tebow pursuing a career in baseball.
