Josh Gad, Lester Holt take to Twitter detailing shooter scare at LAX

Actor Josh Gad and NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt were just two of the many people inside Los Angeles International Airport late Sunday evening and into Monday when passengers became panicked after hearing about an active shooter there.

Both men were evacuated from LAX and took to social media to detail the scary moments that unfolded.

“At #LAX right now. Chaos. [Cops] with rifles everywhere,” Gad tweeted.

He followed that tweet up with another when he learned that the reports were not accurate. “Cops literally raided the terminal screaming to get out. Got my kids and ran for dear life. Thank God it appears to be nothing. Still awful.”

Around the same time Gad sent out his tweets, Lester Holt also took to Twitter and in true journalist fashion described the scene for his followers writing, “Arriving at LAX off flight when people started pouring out of term 4 onto Tarmac. Security said ‘shots fired. Run!’ Now in vehicle on taxiwy. Witness tells me she heard ‘pops’ in lax term 4. Others say  they just heard ‘run!’ Those evacuated to Tarmac just allowed back in.”

He then posted another tweet which read, "Safely off the LAX Tarmac. PD search of terminals yields no confirm of shots fired. I heard "run" as crowd ran toward us but no shots."

No one was injured in the chaos and it was determined by officers that the noises thought to be gunshots were actually just loud noises associated with daily airport operations.
