Laurie Hernandez and the rest of the Final Five squad won the gold medal on Tuesday, Aug. 9 in the Team All Around and we know exactly where she is going to celebrate her Olympic win and it’s not Disneyland.
When the Olympian gets back to the states she is going to celebrate the victory at her happiest place on earth which seems to be Wawa.
That’s right, Hernandez’s brother, Marcus, took to Instagram to share a pic of his sister’s smiling face while holding up her gold medal and paired it with a super sweet caption which read in part, “It's blowing my mind how the same little girl I used to see doing flips on my bed at age 6 now has a gold medal. I have seen you deal with so much adversity with the sport over the last several years and to finally see your hard work culminate makes it all worth it. You're the toughest little 16 year old I've ever met and I'm not saying that just cause I'm a proud bro. Remember to give God his glory always! Love you sis and can't wait to see you kill it Monday as well. As soon as you land we're going straight to Wawa.”
For those who don’t live near a Wawa and aren’t sure exactly what it is, they are large convenience stores, most with gas stations, that operate in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.
In the past Laurie has posted about her Wawa meals that her brother got for her so we know she is looking forward to celebrating there with him once she gets back.
I officially have the best brother ever! ☺????
