Brie Larson will make her directorial debut in Unicorn Store, a comedy about a woman moving back in with her parents and being invited to a special store.
Larson will play the lead as well as produce the film. Samantha McIntyre, writer on the short-lived Judy Greer FX comedy Married, wrote the script. The filmmakers are working for an October start date, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Back in 2012, Rebel Wilson was supposed to star in the film with Youth in Revolt director Miguel Arteta behind the camera.
This won't be Larson's directorial debut. She directed two short films, 2011's Weighting and 2012's The Arm and won the Special Jury Award for Comedic Storytelling at Sundance for the latter.
Best known for her acting, Larson has starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street, The Spectacular Now, Don Jon, Short Term 12, The Gambler, Trainwreck, and Room. She will appear in Kong: Skull Island in March and is set to join the Avengers in which she will play the lead in Captain Marvel, set to be released in March 2019. Just a few days ago Larson posted a photo of herself researching the character.
