Amazon announces that Woody Allen will be debuting new TV series

Amazon announces dates and title for a new Woody Allen TV series.

The director is working with Amazon to release his first TV series and according to ABC News, Allen’s debut show will air on Sept. 30 by the streaming service.  The project, titled Crisis in Six Scenes, is a comedy set in the '60s that focuses on a suburban family dealing with the chaos from someone who came to visit them.

The six-episode series will star Allen, along with Miley Cyrus and Elaine May, reports LA Times.

Crisis will be a part of a “comedy month,” where shows like Tig Notaro’s One Mississippi will kick off on Sept. 9, followed by playwright Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag on Sept. 16 and the notable return of the transgender-themed comedy Transparent in its third season on Sept. 23.
