Michelle Williams is in talks to join Hugh Jackman and a rumored Zac Efron in the P.T. Barnum biopic musical called The Greatest Showman.
The movie is now gaining some speed over at 20th Century Fox, according to Deadline. The film follows the story of the founder of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus also billed as The Greatest Show on Earth. It’s unknown what role Williams would play.
The actress recently played Glinda the Good Witch in Oz the Great and Powerful and received her third Oscar nomination for playing Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn. She was also one of the leads on the hit show Dawson’s Creek.
Michael Gracey directs from a screenplay by Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine, Toy Story 3, Star Wars: The Force Awakens). Tony nominees Justin Paul and Benj Pasek, who also wrote songs for NBC’s Smash, are writing the music.
Williams was just nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performance in Blackbird, but lost to Jessica Lange for Long Day’s Journey Into Night. Williams will next be seen in Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck opposite Julianne Moore.
