Katy Perry performs "Rise" and "Roar" at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Perry walked on stage and gave a speech about the importance of using your voice before breaking into her two hit songs.
"I didn't finish high school and unfortunately I don't have a formal education, but I do have an open mind and I have a voice," Perry said. "So I'm asking you to have an open mind and to use your voice, because on November 8th, you'll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist."
Her entire speech, in which she endorses Hillary Clinton, and her performance can be viewed below.
Perry recorded "Rise" as an anthem for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Her last album, Prism, was released in 2013. She has the most Twitter followers of any user with over 91 million. Justin Bieber is in second with 85.2 million, Taylor Swift in third with 79.9 million and Barack Obama is in fourth with 76.3 million.
