Justin Bieber turned down offer to perform at Republican National Convention [REPORT]

Any democrats who are also Beliebers may have just found another reason to love Justin Bieber. The singer reportedly turned down a $5 million offer to perform at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

According to TMZ, Bieber's longtime manager Scooter Braun was a driving force in his decision to turn down the gig. Despite being assured that the appearance wouldn't be politically driven, Scooter Braun, a Hillary Clinton supporter, and CAA, the agency that represents Bieber,  both had serious issues with the performance.

The $5 million upfront offer was reportedly the biggest Bieber had ever received. Braun at one point suggested that Bieber hang  Black Lives Matter banners on the stage during his performance. He was allegedly told that Bieber could not hang those banners, but instead could hang banners that said "All Lives Matter." Ultimately Braun told Bieber that it was up to him whether or not he took the gig, but also said that he could not continue to represent the singer if he chose to perform at the convention.

Bieber was also considering doing the gig after hearing a rumor that NBA star Lebron James would be in Cleveland to welcome the GOP to the city. However, Lebron's camp told Bieber that he would not be in Cleveland and advised him against performing at the GOP convention. Bieber's band, which is all Black, also did not want to perform at the convention.

Braun expressed his support for Clinton, for whom he hosted  a fundraiser last year, during the Democratic National Convention this week.

Bieber has not commented publicly on the matter at this time.
