Celebrities took to social media with their reactions after news broke about the shots fired during what was supposed to be a peaceful protest in Dallas but ended up leaving five police officers dead and several others injured.
About a dozen officers were shot on Thursday evening at the protest held in response to this week’s fatal shootings of two black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, by white police officers in Louisiana and Minnesota. People took to the streets all over the nation the past few days but the protest in Dallas on July 7 is the one where a gunmen opened fire and shot several law enforcement members.
The Dallas Police Department had tweeted out a picture of two officers standing side-by-side with a protester before the gunfire erupted.

These Dallas shootings are horrific. Killing these officers is morally reprehensible and completely counterproductive to keeping us safe.

Being against cops killing is not equal to being for killing cops. We need peace in our streets.
