Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals for an incident with LeBron James.
The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of Game 4 on Friday night. Green and James were chasing a loose ball when Green fell down and James stepped over him. After he fell, Green swung his arm at James’ groin and made contact, according to Fox Sports. James confronted him after the hit and they were chest to chest. On the next play they had another altercation after chasing a rebound and exchanged a few words before being separated.
Green was given a flagrant 1 foul for the incident. It is his fourth flagrant foul point in the playoffs. James was given a technical foul for his role in the incident.
"While Draymond Green's actions in Game 4 do not merit a suspension as a standalone act, the number of flagrant points he has earned triggers a suspension for Game 5,” NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Kiki Vandeweghe said in a statement.
Green was suspended earlier in the postseason for kicking Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams in the groin in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
Game 5 of the NBA Finals is tonight. The Warriors lead the series 3-1.
