The Voice judges were among the many celebrities and friends of singer Christina Grimmie who payed tribute to the young singer, who tragically died at just 22 years old after a gunman came up to her during a meet and greet and shot her.
On Friday, June 10, after opening for the band Before You Exit, Grimmie was signing autographs when a man walked up and shot her several times. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died of her injuries.
Blake Shelton posted on Twitter as he discovered the news and upon word of her death, said he was “stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl.”

Grimmie’s brother Mark, who tackled the gunman after the shots were fired, thanked fans on his Facebook page for their support. He said Christina was “a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely. But above all…she was my baby sister.”
A GoFundMe account was created by her manager Brian Teefey, who is also Selena Gomez’s stepfather. It was set up to help Grimmie’s family and has already went over the asking amount for donations.
Grimmie appeared on season six of The Voice and placed third by the end of the season.
