Top 10 reasons why the History Channel’s ‘Alone' may give you nightmares, but you have to keep watching anyway

7.  Being constantly filmed

Even in this paparazzi-loving culture, most people tend to value their own privacy, even if that right does not necessarily extend to others.  When one signs on to a reality show, they know they are going to be on camera around the clock.  They signed up for that.  However, imagine having to film yourself all of the time.  For most, it would be better having another person film you—at least then you could banter back and forth and test ideas.  You must become master or mistress of the selfie. On this Alone, you have to rely on yourself for material and know that producers will have the final say in what they think makes good television.  You having a breakdown or cutting your hand with an axe makes for a real dramatic moment, one that you may not want the world to see.
