'The Last Ship' was scheduled to premiere Sunday evening on TNT, but in the wake of great tragedy in Orlando, Florida, it was postponed.
On Sunday morning, a shooting occurred at a gay nightclub in Orlando where 50 people were killed and about 53 others were injured after a gunman stormed the club and went on a shooting rampage. According to Deadline.com, The Last Ship was rescheduled out of respect for the victims who lost their lives in the shooting. The premiere included a Vietnamese nightclub shooting scene, which undeniably would be quite difficult for viewers to see in the wake of what happened. The season 3 drama debut was to present back-to-back episodes, with one of the episodes including the controversial scene.
Rather, TNT posted the tweet below to show its solidarity and support the victims and their families following the tragic event:
After the shootings in Orlando, tonight's season premiere of The Last Ship is postponed. Our hearts are with the victims and their families.
