Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Ryan Jimmo was killed Sunday, June 26, when he was stuck in an alleged hit-and-run accident in his native Canada. He was 34.
While authorities did not immediately reveal Jimmo’s name as the victim, his aunt confirmed that her nephew did in fact die after he was hit by a car while walking to his own vehicle in Edmonton. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The driver of the car that police say hit Jimmo allegedly fled the scene after striking him and has not been located at this time. A police reports states that Jimmo had some type of “altercation” with the operator of the other vehicle before he was hit.
After the tragic news broke, reactions and tributes to the former UFC star poured in via social media. You can view some of those posts below.
