The world of Indiana Jones may go on past five movies, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger.
In a THR profile, Iger said there have been talks about the franchise and where it could possibly go after the fifth movie.
"We [got] Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in the film. But then what's the direction? I've had discussions about what the direction is, [but] I don't want to get into it," Iger said. "I don't think it reaches the scale of the universe of Star Wars, but I see making more. It won't be just a one-off."
A fifth Indiana Jones movie starring Harrison Ford and directed by Steven Spielberg is set for release on July 19, 2019. David Koepp, who recently wrote Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Premium Rush as well as Indiana Jones 4, War of the Worlds and Jurassic Park 1 and 2 for Spielberg, will write the screenplay.
In the profile, Iger also talks about letting Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm do their thing, leaving the position in 2018, the possibility of running for office and that he's seen the latest Star Wars flick.
"I've seen Rogue One. I've seen not only an edited picture but I've seen significantly more footage than was even in that picture," Iger said. "That's actually going to be a fine film."
When asked about Jack Sparrow being in Disney's new park in Shanghai amid Johnny Depp's recent troubles with ex-wife Amber Heard, Iger said, "Not worried about it."
