Every Star Trek fan has a heavy heart after discovering the death of actor Anton Yelchin today.
Besides playing the role of Chekov in the Star Trek reboots, Yelchin also starred in films such as Fright Night (the reboot), Like Crazy, Terminator Salvation, The Smurfs 2 and Along Came a Spider.
As previously reported, the actor was killed in a freak accident right outside his house in Los Angeles, California.
Yelchin was just about to go meet up with some friends on Sunday, but he ended up being a no show. His friends became worried and decided to go check on him in his Studio City abode.
In his driveway, Yelchin was found pinned between his car and a brick mailbox pillar, which was attached to a security gate.
Something caused Yelchin to get out of the car and walk towards the back end of the vehicle. It is believed that the car was put in neutral instead of park, which caused it to roll back and end up trapping the actor.
The world got news of Yelchin's death at 1:00am local time. Since then fans have been in pure shock over the actor's sudden death.
Here are some twitter reactions from his loving fans. Celebrities have also poured their hearts out as they remembered the young star.
