Forget looking like an old man, cute puppy or throwing up rainbows, now you can look like one of your favorite X-Men thanks to a series of new Snapchat filters.
According to The New York Times, Snapchat announced an X-Men takeover of all of their popular lenses Monday in collaboration with 20th Century Fox to promote the upcoming film X-Men: Apocolypse. For the 24 hours prior to the release of the film, the bulging eyes and other lenses we've grown to love will be replaced by the faces of characters like Storm, Magneto or Cyclops.
The lens swap is also costing 20th Century Fox a pretty penny. The Times reports that sponsoring a lens can cost up to $750,000. This is not the first time that a company has used the lens feature, which debuted last year, to further their brand. Big names including Taco Bell and Gatorade were in on the fun way before 20th Century Fox. The change may be intended to build excitement for the film, but Snapchat users aren't all excited about losing their other options.

X-men taking over snapchat reminds me of when U2 intruded in all of our lives by placing their album in every iTunes account. Rude.

Let's just pause and have a moment of silence for all of the ruined flower crown selfies this will cause.
