Nick Menza, the former drummer for Megadeath, has passed away at the age of 51.
Menza was performing with his current band OHM at a show on May 21 when he unexpectedly collapsed. His management confirmed the news of his death.
Dave Mustaine, frontman for Megadeath, tweeted about the news beginning with, “Tell me this isn’t true!”

Another Megadeath band member, David Ellefson, tweeted his condolences to Menza’s family, adding he was “a true artist and friend to us all.”

OHM posted their condolences to Menza as well and commented to a distraught fan about how Menza had been a huge help after the death of David Eagle, a former band member for OHM. Menza had performed at a benefit concert to help with medical bills, according to a reply from the band in the comments.
A post on Menza’s Facebook account made mention of his parents, who asked for privacy during this time, and his two sons.
