Woman shares prison letter allegedly from Jared Fogle

A woman has come forward with a letter from former Subway spokesperson and convicted sex offender Jared Fogle.

According to Fox 59, Brena Firkins alleged that years before his conviction, she had a sexual relationship with Fogle after meeting him on a dating website. Firkins said she felt bad for him being in prison and wrote to him to see how he was doing. Fogle responded in a letter describing what his time in prison had been like.

“It’s been a very hard nine months from me," Fogle wrote.

“I made a couple of mistakes but nothing like the media reports have said. They are making me into some sort of monster which is absolutely not true. I’m currently appealing my prison sentence and am hoping for the best with it. Bottom line, my director of my foundation and friend did some bad stuff and tried to throw me under the bus with him," the letter says.

The envelope which contained the letter also had Fogle's inmate identification number, 12919-028, on it.

Fogle is currently incarcerated at the Englewood Federal Correctional Institution in Littleton, Colorado, where he is serving a 15-and-a-half year sentence on child pornography, as well as other additional charges.
