6. Mrs. Doubtfire
There is never a bad time to revisit Mrs. Doubtfire, although Robin Williams' passing now casts an unfortunate sadness over what is otherwise such a joyous experience. In this phenomenal comedy, a loving father, Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams), loses custody of his children and so he pretends to be a female nanny named Mrs. Doubtfire in order to spend time with them. Daniel goes through a massive amount of effort to give his kids a better life, while they are not even aware of how hard he's working (at least, until they discover his true identity). In that way, it's a clear metaphor for what every devoted mother and father goes through, bending over backwards to make their child's life easier and not receiving nearly as much thanks as they deserve.
