Not only is Fried Green Tomatoes a classic dramedy about marriage and friendship, but 2016 also marks the film's 25th anniversary. Based on the novel by Fannie Flagg, this movie follows a housewife, Evelyn (Kathy Bates), who has grown unhappy with her home life, but she soon fosters an unlikely friendship with an 82-year-old woman named Ninny (Jessica Tandy). We witness the lives of both Evelyn and Ninny as young ladies and though the story might sound a bit cliche, it actually takes the audience to some quite interesting and surprising directions, adding up to a highly memorable journey about female friendship.
