Sheila E. discusses memorial service for Prince

World renowned singer and drummer Sheila E. opened up about remembering Prince and his memorial service.

Prince, who died on April 21, was memorialized in a private ceremony at his Paisley Park home in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Sheila E., who was once engaged to the "When Doves Cry" singer and collaborated with him for songs like "Let's Go Crazy" and "Erotic City," said the event was somber and sad. "We were playing his songs, his music at a low volume and it was hard to hear. Some songs were harder than others to listen to," she told E! News.

Sheila E. said that Prince's family was taking his passing hard, although they attempted to be strong. She also praised Prince's fans and their attempts to honor the late singer.

"He loved to entertain, so people celebrating him and playing his music and enjoying what he left us, which is his legacy of amazing music, that's what he would have wanted," she said.
