Actor and pro-wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson officially confirmed a Jumanji reboot.
Johnson took to Instagram to announce the news late last week.
The 43-year-old actor says that he is finishing up "an already very good script" with Seven Bucks Production, the company he co-founded. Next, he will be meeting with producer Matt Tolmach, who produced The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and director Jake Kasdan, who directed Bad Teacher and Orange County.
Some people didn't take the news very well, replying to Johnson's Instagram post.
"Don't do this @therock you will never match Robin," one user commented.
Another fan wrote, "I love you but this has pissed me right off! Why would anyone risk running one of the best movies Robin made?! This is going too far."
Other fans are a bit more hopeful.
"Give it a chance I don’t think DJ would ever ruin something from the iconic comedian," "I trust him, I think it will be good" and "You're bringing my childhood back!!!!!"
There is also a rumor that Kevin Hart might help with producing the film, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Jumanji is scheduled to open July 28, 2017.
