Not long after the DVD & Blu-Ray release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney has dropped another franchise bomb with a new Star Wars teaser trailer.
On Wednesday, April 7, Disney premiered the teaser trailer for the upcoming film on ABC's Good Morning America. The trailer gives fans an idea of what to expect from the next film in the franchise, which USA Today notes will be a leap back in time in the series' history. The story will follow a group of rebels led by Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones).

The film will also star Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna and Donnie Yen. As we previously reported, the film is a prequel of sorts, as it will fill in the events leading up to Star Wars: A New Hope. It is set for release on Dec. 16, but prior to its release, fans will be able to acquaint themselves with the new characters through a series of comic books Marvel will release leading up to the film.
