Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards announces some of its winners

Some of the winners have been announced for the 43rd Annual Daytime Creative Emmy Awards, which was held on April 29 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.

Among the top champions were The Young and the Restless and PBS show Mind of a Chef, which both took home five awards each, according to Variety.

Also honored that night was Sesame Street's Sonia Manzano, who received a Lifetime Achievement award for her role as Maria on the children's show. Manzano's award was announced earlier in a press release.

Sesame Street was also announced as the winner for Outstanding Preschool Television Series, while digital Amazon shows Tumble Leaf  and Niko and the Sword of Life won the award for preschool and animation series.

The remaining winners will be announced tomorrow May 1 at an untelevised awards ceremony. As we previously reported, due to issues finding sponsorship, the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will not be televised this year.  The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences intends to have the ceremony return to television screens next year in 2017.
