Amy Schumer fired back after Glamour Magazine featured her in their "plus-size only" issue as one of their inspiring women alongside Adele, Melissa McCarthy, and Ashley Graham.
Schumer took to her social media accounts to share her outrage and disappointment in the magazine for being a negative influence on young girls' body image. Schumer stated that she does not think anything is wrong with being plus size. The comedian, however, is four to five sizes smaller than the plus size in America. Schumer critiqued that it puts the wrong idea in impressionable girls' heads to refer to her as plus-sized. This is because they will think that an average size is plus.
Schumer is not impressed with Glamour and their "unnecessary labels." The responses to Schumer's posts show that the majority agrees with her.
Bottom line seems to be we are done with these unnecessary labels which seem to be reserved for women. pic.twitter.com/VUnrgFseRl

Based on this incident, Glamour Magazine got at least one thing right: Schumer is an inspiring woman. Her stance against labels has inspired others to speak out against the issue on social media, as well.
@amyschumer 'plus size' is just another way of splitting us into uniformed groups, putting a label on people's appearance.

I don't think labels are the way to go. Singling women out for their size, and making a point about it is never glamorous @amyschumer
