Steven Spielberg picks frequent collaborator to write ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Steven Spielberg has reportedly hired one of his favorite screenwriters to work with him on Indiana Jones 5.

David Koepp, who first worked with Spielberg on 1993’s Jurassic Park and also co-wrote Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will write the script. Disney has not confirmed the news, but it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter and TheWrap.

Koepp also worked with Spielberg on The Lost World: Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds. In recent years, the writer has turned to directing, helming the Johnny Depp bomb Mortdecai and Premium Rush with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. His other credits include the 2002 Spider-Man and David Fincher’s Panic Room.

Disney announced on March 15 that Spielberg and Harrison Ford are working on Indy 5, which will come out on July 19, 2019. It’s not clear what the plot will be or if George Lucas will have any involvement. Lucas, who developed the series with Spielberg, was not mentioned at all in Disney’s announcement.
