NBC ‘Chicago’ spin-off ‘Chicago Law’ gets Carl Weathers

Carl Weathers will star in NBC’s upcoming fourth Chicago series, Chicago Law, which has now been retitled Chicago Justice.

The casting was announced by executive producer Dick Wolf during the Paley Center panel for his Chicago universe, which already includes Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med. According to Deadline, the former Rocky and Predator actor will star as State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies.

The Chicago Justice cast will make their debut in an episode of Chicago PD later this season. The episode is titled “Justice.”

NBC announced in January that it was officially developing a third Chicago Fire spin-off. NBC is also working with Wolf to develop a Law & Order-inspired reality series called You The Jury.

Weathers is best known for starring as Apollo Creed in the Rocky movies and starring in Predator. His recent TV work includes Arrested Development and USA Network’s Colony.
