Lady Gaga discusses her thoughts before, during and after her Oscars performance

Lady Gaga discussed what was on her mind before and during her 2016 Oscars performance of "Til It Happens to You" in an interview with Ryan Seacrest.

Gaga went On Air with Ryan Seacrest March 7, sharing even more details about her performance.

Gaga explained why she had a difficult time preparing for her Oscars performance and why it was almost impossible to keep her emotions from overcoming her, making her cry. She told Seacrest, "I just couldn't get past re-experiencing it every time I sang the song. That's pretty common with people that have been through what we've been through is that you're constantly reliving the experience and it paralyzes you with fear." Gaga wanted to get through her performance without tears to be strong and professional.

TheCelebrityCafe.com previously reported that Gaga's grandmother and aunt found out about her abuse during the performance.  She said in an Instagram post after the performance that she spoke to her grandmother on the phone and found out she was proud of her.

Gaga ended her radio interview requesting that Seacrest play "Til It Happens to You," despite it not being an upbeat song one would hear at the club. "There's a lot of shallow things in the universe and I'm just asking you Ryan... don't give up on something just because it doesn't sound like what we're used to hearing on the radio every day. It's still important. There should be some balance on the radio. It has a lot of power."
