Joe Giudice spent some quality time with his family on March 21 before he heads to prison to serve his sentence.
A going away party was held for him at the Blu Alehouse in Riverdale, New Jersey, owned by John Harms, who is Joe's long time friend, reported E Online. Friends and family attended the affair where his wife, Teresa Giudice, and their four daughters were by his side.
Harms is a partner of the restaurant and had some nice words for Joe.
"I've been friends with Joe and Teresa since before the show," Harms explained. "My partners and I have gotten to know Joe over time and we wanted to do something nice for him two nights before he went away—a way for everyone to say goodbye."
The event had a mechanical bull, a buffet of food and music with loved ones laughing, talking and enjoying Joe's company before he leaves.
Harms said that there were many tears and that Joe had a few words for his guest. "He told everyone, 'Stop making me cry, I'm not going to the electric chair,'" Harms revealed. "His attitude is as good as it can be.
"You can tell he's being strong for everyone else. There were a lot of tears."
It was also Melissa Gorga's 37th birthday on the same night, however, Gorga wanted all the attention on Joe during the event.
"I have to give her props: she didn't make it about her at all," said Harms. "We didn't do a cake. It was Joe's party."
Giudice's sentencing begins just three months after Teresa was released from prison for the same convictions that Joe was charged for, reported People.
They were both convicted of bankruptcy fraud and Joe is convicted of failure to file his taxes. He will be spending 41 months in jail.
Almost 4 years in prison might seem like a lot, but Giudice himself said it's not that big of a deal.
"They tell me that the low security and the camp there are almost the same so it's no big deal," he said. "I'm looking at it like rehabilitation for me. I am not going to be able to drink for a while which is good because I don't even know when it's been since I haven't had a drink."
The family spent the weekend with each other before the party, one of the daugthers, Milania, posting some pictures on her Instagram.
