Hugh Jackman saves his kids and swimmers from drowning

Actor Hugh Jackman was caught on footage saving his children and some swimmers from drowning on March 26.

Jackman was with his family at Bondi Beach, located in Sydney, Australia, when the rip started getting stronger, reported 9 News. Lifeguards went to rescue swimmers with boards and jet skis. Little did they know that X-men star was helping also.

Jackman was pulling a man by his arm, trying to get him back to shore. The man, named Peter Adam, was also holding a girl, trying to get her to safety. He claims that the girl he was holding was Jackman's daughter.

"He wasn't rescuing me, I was assisting him to get his daughter up to the sandbar. He then grabbed my hand to get us up," said Adams.

Jackman then went to rescue his 15-year-old son, Oscar, with help from lifeguards before he thanked them for their efforts.

Jackman was also waving at other swimmers to catch their attention so they could get to shore. He was too shaken up by the accident and wasn't available for comment, according to Australian Associated Press. The beach was closed down shortly after the incident.

Jackman landed in Australia on March 25 for the premiere of his latest film, Eddie the Eagle.
