Dame Helen Mirren was on The Late Show on March 8 and got her interview with Stephen Colbert off to a steamy start.
When the 70-year-old Oscar winner was introduced by Colbert, she decided to do more than just shake hands with the host. She leaned in for a kiss.
Colbert was left speechless, then wiped sweat from his face after sitting down.
“If I didn’t do it then, I’d never get to do it,” Mirren said. “So...you know, I have been dreaming of doing that for about 15 years. I just grabbed my chance. I’m so sorry.”
“I suddenly can’t remember any of my questions,” Colbert said. “That’s one of the nicest greetings any guest has ever given me… You know what you’re doing.”
Mirren was just seen in and Trumbo last year. Her next film is the ensemble drama Collateral Beauty with Will Smith.
