Grizzlies' Mike Conley out 3-4 weeks with Achilles injury

Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley will be out for at least 3-4 weeks with a foot injury, the team announced on Saturday.

According to the Associated Press, Conley has Achilles tendinitis in his left foot. He will be re-evaluated after 3-4 weeks. Conley’s injury is just the most recent injury for the injury plagued Grizzlies. Center Chris Anderson is out with a dislocated left shoulder and the Grizzlies said on Saturday that he will continue to be evaluated.

All-Star center Marc Gasol will miss the rest of the season with a broken foot, as we previously reported, and backup guard Mario Chalmers was waived on March 10. Forward Zach Randolph has missed three straight games with a knee injury and isn’t expected to play on Saturday.

Conley is in his ninth season with the Grizzlies. He is averaging 15.3 points and 6.1 assists this season. Conley is also averaging 2.9 rebounds and 1.20 steals. Anderson was acquired by the Grizzlies in a trade with the Miami Heat in February. He is averaging four points and 4.7 rebounds with the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies have won 9 of their last 13 games despite all the players that are out with injuries. They are 39-26 and are in fifth place in the Western Conference.
