Daisy Ridley is yet another star to stand up for her body and all body types, calling out body-shamers and empowering women.
The 23-year-old actress, who plays Rey in Star Wars: Force Awakens, received negative comments on an Instagram post accusing her of setting "unrealistic expectations," as "real women have curves," E! Online reported.
Ridley responded to the Instagram user saying, “'Real women' are all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities, all levels of brave. I am a 'real woman' like every other woman in this world,” according to Refinery29.
Since the Instagram exchange on body shaming, fans of Ridley have sent messages to the original body shamer, attacking them for their negative words. This caused Ridley to delete her original post and make another, calling for all of her followers to be kind to one another.
In the post, Ridley also explained why her character Rey sets a good example for young women outside of physical appearance.
Ridley ended her message with, "For all of you who celebrate each other, celebrate the ones you love, love yourselves, work hard, are kind, thank you for your continued support and the social media love. For anyone who has a problem with ANYONE in their life... if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Kindness isn't going to cure the world of all its awfulness but it's a good place to begin."
