'Captain America: Civil War' will be Marvel's longest film ever

Captain America: Civil War is going to be massive, and it has just received the longest running time in Marvel's history.

As first pointed out by Comic Book Movie, a new listing of Civil War on Event Cinemas reveals the film to be 146 minutes, making it a few minutes longer than both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. That might be surprising, considering the Avengers movies are the big Marvel events and this is just another Captain America sequel, but actually, Civil War is shaping up to be so significant that it might as well be the third Avengers.

In fact, it was recently revealed that the ending of Civil War will feature a crazy, controversial twist, as we previously reported. Anthony Russo says this plot turn will have a major impact on the future of the Marvel franchise, and fans are already speculating that Captain America himself will bite the dust at the end of the film.

If you're into really long comic book movies where the heroes fight one another, you're in luck this year. The upcoming Batman v. Superman will also be quite lengthy, clocking in at 2 hours and 31 minutes, as we previously reported.

Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland. It hits theaters on May 6.
