Free-agent cornerback Brice McCain agreed to a deal with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.
According to NFL.com, the deal is for two years and worth $5 million. McCain was released by the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Steelers were also interested in signing him. McCain signing with the Titans makes sense though since he has experience in Dick LeBeau's defense. LeBeau was with the Steelers when McCain was there in 2014.
McCain was drafted by the Houston Texans in 2009. He was with the team for five years. In 2014, he played for the Steelers and then signed with the Dolphins last season. According to Sports Illustrated, he had 39 tackles, one interception and 10 pass breakups last year as well as 188 combined tackles and nine interceptions over his seven-year career.
McCain will add depth to the Titans back end and will likely be in the slot in sub-packages.
The Titans were 3-13 last season and tied with the Cleveland Browns for the worst record in the league.
